We continue with news from the CES 2012, in this case with a type of device you are giving a lot to talk about these days: storage via Thunderbolt interface.
More specifically we refer to Western Digital My Book Thunderbolt Duo, one of the most interesting devices from the point of view of transfer speed. While some external hard drives only offer the ability to use the internal SSD as if an external hard drive is involved, WD My Book allows you to connect multiple serial Thunderbolt Duo with a more than remarkable improvement in overall performance. According to the manufacturer, one of these pots can reach speeds of 250 MB / s on real evidence, but together several of them (four in total) say they have come to have peaks up to 900 MB / s. It is obviously much faster than we're used to seeing in our homes, but also much more expensive. The positive side is that these high speeds are achieved with traditional hard drives, so that the skills will be high: 4 to 6 TB, depending on the model you choose.
The WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo is now developing a product whose release date has not yet been formalized, and in fact unlikely to be soon. It seems now that the device is only compatible with Mac, perhaps due to recent Windows computers are, precisely, have mostly been presented along these days at CES. However, the firmware for the Microsoft system shortly and will surely have prepared before you start marketing the devices.
Price better not think, because obviously be very expensive. Now, for dreaming that it is not: Who does not want one? I certainly, yes.
